Career and Internship Support with Bill Beard

Bill Beard brings over 35 years of industry experience in process and chemical engineering with ARCO and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University. Throughout his career, he conducted more than 2,000 college interviews at 18 universities, including UCLA, and helped hire over 200 students for internships and full-time roles.

Bill now applies that experience to support CBE students and alumni in preparing for successful careers. He provides individualized guidance on:

  • Resume and cover letter development
  • Interview preparation and professional communication
  • Identifying job and internship opportunities
  • Evaluating and negotiating job offers
  • Career planning and transitions after graduation

In Person and Virtual Meetings

Wednesdays (Fall, Winter, Spring): Bill is on campus in Boelter 5506 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

ZOOM Scheduling (Virtual)

All other days of the week (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun): Bill works from home and is generally available via email, phone, or Zoom with no specific time restrictions, except for personal conflicts.

Summer Quarter: Bill is available at home all week, again with flexible timing and no strict limits.
