We are excited to announce the recruitment of Dr. Junyoung Park to UCLA! Dr. Park joined our Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering on July 1st, 2018. Dr. Park brings his unique expertise to our department in metabolic engineering and cancer metabolism. His group aims to apply quantitative and holistic understanding of metabolic networks to advancing biotechnology and medicine.

At the intersection of energy, environment, and medicine, Dr. Park’s research integrates various technologies from analytical chemistry, systems biology, and chemical engineering. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring as well as working towards solving energy and environmental challenges and curing human diseases.

Dr. Park received his Ph.D. and master’s in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, and bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Bioengineering: Biotechnology from UC San Diego. Before joining UCLA, he conducted postdoctoral research at MIT and developed a technology to continuously and economically convert CO2 into advanced bioproducts.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Park to our faculty in the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UCLA!
